Deep Tissue Massage
Light to Medium pressure is used to relax the muscles and to help reduce stress levels in the body. This pressure level activates the sympathetic nervous system and allows the body to relax and start healing itself. This type of massage is very relaxing and should be neither painful nor uncomfortable.
Medium to deep pressure is used to relax the deeper muscles. This level of pressure is usually used when someone has previously had a massage, is familiar with how massage works, and how their body will respond. Deep Tissue massage can be uncomfortable but should not be painful.
Prenatal massage is similar to a Swedish or deep tissue massage. The difference is that we modify how the mother-to-be will lie on the table to accommodate her growing baby. Your massage therapist will also check for any contraindications and take into account anything that can cause an issue to the mother or baby, as well as avoid certain pressure points on the body. Your massage therapist will also make sure to avoid any essential oils that are not safe for use during pregnancy if you opt to add any to your massage.
Head & Shoulders
This is another great option if you may not have time to get a full body massage or would prefer to focus on this area due to a head or neck ache. This massage focuses on the head, neck, and shoulders.
Foot or Hand Scrub
This is a great option if you may not have time to get a full body massage but would still like to take some time to relax and pamper yourself. You get to pick if you want your arms and hands or feet and lower legs scrubbed/massaged. Be sure to wear short sleeves or shorts.
Are you wanting to offer some extra health benefits to your employees in the office? Depending on what you want we can bring a chair or our table. Just offering a 10 to 15-minute massage in the office once or twice a month can help with productivity and morale as well as mental and physical health for your employees.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
My Hot Stone Massage uses Himalayan salt stones. These hot stones can be either set on specific points to relax tense muscles that cause trigger points or used as an extension of the therapist's hands during a Swedish or Deep Tissue massage on the entire body to soothe soreness, reduce stress, and relax tension.
Aromatherapy is a great addition to any massage. Not only can the scent aid in relaxation but the body can have physical and mental responses to essential oils when inhaled or applied topically with the lotion/oil. Using essential oils during your massage can help with relaxation and may promote healing, help with anxiety, pain, etc.
This is an add-on to any of our massage modalities, currently Swedish, and deep tissue, and adding Prenatal in the near future. I will be using a sugar or salt scrub. I am also in the process of creating my own signature scrub.
